Baby Bath Set Part 1 Wash Cloth Tutorial
Today’s Baby Bath Set Part 1 Wash Cloth Tutorial is part 1 of a 3 part set. The Bath Set consists of a Bath blanket and wash cloth with a terry towel material on one side and a soft Minky fabric on the other. The bath blanket has the baby’s name and initial appliqued with an embroidery machine. The beauty of this type of gift is that you have many uses from one set. The bath blanket can be a hooded towel or a swaddle blanket. The Wash cloth is both a wash cloth and burp cloth. When you are a parent the best items in you arsenal are the ones that do double and sometimes triple duty. Do you have a favorite baby item or gift that works for multiple uses? If so what is it and did you or someone else make it? I made this set as a gift for a friends baby and I hope they like it. The embroidery adds just a little bit of heart to any baby project and makes it unique to the child.
Part 1 is the wash cloth.
Terry cloth 12″ x 12″
Minky dot 12″ x 12″
Do not iron Minky – You will loose the dots
Cut fabric in 12″ x 12″ squares.
Layer right sides together and pin.
Stitch – Be careful and go slowly the minky is slippery. If you need a little grip layer a strip of plastic grocery bag over the top. When you finish the edging all you have to do is tear the plastic away. I curved my corners but you can keep then squared, just back-stitch the corners.
Trim the corners and turn out.
Pin closure and top stitch around the edges.
Wash Cloth Complete.
Wishing you Luck and Love,
