Hooded Bath Blanket Tutorial Part 3
Today’s Baby Bath Set Part 3 Hooded Bath Blanket Tutorial is part 3 of a 3 part set. The Bath Set consists of a Bath blanket and wash cloth with a terry towel material on one side and a soft Minky fabric on the other. The bath blanket has the baby’s name and initial appliqued with an embroidery machine. The beauty of this type of gift is that you have many uses from one set. The bath blanket can be a hooded towel or a swaddle blanket. The Washcloth is both a wash cloth and burp cloth. When you are a parent the best items in you arsenal are the ones that do double and sometimes triple duty. Do you have a favorite baby item or gift that works for multiple uses? If so what is it and did you or someone else make it? I made this set as a gift for a friends baby and I hope they like it. The embroidery adds just a little bit of heart to any baby project and makes it unique to the child.

Measure 32″ x 32″ with 1/2″ seam allowance.
mark on the Terry cloth and cut.
Cut a 12″ by 12″ square from the terry cloth and cut in half. This will be the hood.
Use the terry cloth pieces as templates to cut out the minky.
Here are the cut pieces
1 terry cloth and 1 minky 32″ x 32″
1 terry cloth and 1 minky triangle 12″
Layer the hood pieces right sides together.
Straight stitch the long edge
Turn right sides out
Top stitch down. This forms the edge of the hood.
place the 32″ pieces right side together and fold back the corner for the hood.
Place the hood raw edges out and right sides facing. Minky to minky and terry cloth to terry cloth.
Pin being sure to leave an opening for turning.
Back-stitch the corners and the edges of the hood. You will need extra stability and structure in these areas.
Trim the corners and turn out.
Hand stitch the closure. Normally I would top stitch a closure and all the way around the edges, in this case it is better to hand stitch.
