Make your own Wrap Bracelet
This is a super fun DIY that no one will believe you made yourself. The Kiddo got me a really cool wrap bracelet last year and I love it. I wear it all the time and decided I wanted to make one for her for Valentines day. She likes charm bracelets and has a regular linked bracelet with charms for special occasions on it. This time I decided to send her a message “Love Always” which is one of our little saying to each other. “More that anything” was to long for a bracelet. I had a length of cording with grommets left over from a costume and remembered seeing a bracelet made with it a while back. (I tried to find the bracelet to show you the inspiration and couldn’t find it. I’ll keep looking.) The light bulb went off and I was on a mission to find my letter beads and clasps.
Length of leather with grommets
Rings I used 2 sizes
Needle nose pliers
Measure the bracelet cording on your wrist. Remember to factor in the clasp measurements.
I trimmed my edges to curve with the grommet.
Decide on your message or design layout before beginning to work.
Thread the rings and clasps to the end pieces. The needle nose pliers help to work the rings in place.
This project messed up my nail polish in a big way so don’t paint your nails or get a manicure before doing this project.
If you use a toggle clasp the links need to be longer to help the toggle move into place.
Position your design to test placement before adding the loop rings to the band. It is hard to remove them if you put them in the wrong place.
I used square beads and added extra links for the bracelet to have movement.
I used 3 links for the hearts to add a little interest to the bracelet.
The Kiddo got her gift early and she wore it to school. I guess I did a good job. 🙂
The square beads twirl around the link and with movement of her wrist.
This is the wrap bracelet the Kiddo gave me.
