Printable Valentine’s Day Cards

It’s Printable day and I have two options for you. I have a sheet of 9 sweet Valentine’s Day Cards and a set of 9 Teen Valentine’s Day cards.

The first set is the All about Love set. They are all about love from Be Mine to Hello Handsome. Each of the 9 designs are different measuring 2.75″ x 3.5″.

The second set was designed by the Kiddo and her group of friends. This one I call As a Friend because at their age everything is “I like you As a Friend”. There are 3 designs and 9 cards measuring 2.75″ x 3.5″

I have to admit teenagers are weird. The big “thing” right now is friendzone – Everyone is in the friendzone. Part of it is a joke because the kids hear it on TV and YouTube all the time and the Kiddo and her friends use it as an inside joke. When the kids gave me their 3 statements I thought they were odd. They all clarified that the Valentine was for a friend. No ambiguity at all. When I asked why a Valentine could not simply say Happy Valentine’s Day the Kiddo and her friends explained:

When you are a teen girl you have to be careful not to give the wrong impression. You have to make it very clear to the person receiving the Valentine that they are a friend because if they think you like them, and you don’t, feelings get hurt. Even her guy friends said the same thing, they do not want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I asked about “Friendzoned” because it seamed harsh to me and they said that it is better to get that given as a “haha funny card” than a big heart that says Happy Valentines Day because it is more funny and less confusing. I was also told you never give a “Friendzoned” card to someone who might misunderstand.

This new world of Teenagers is frighting to me. I am glad that the Kiddo and her friends are worried about the feelings of others but this kind of angst feels like more than I can handle. I remember the turmoil of puberty (Charlie Brown waiting for a card from the red haired girl) but when you add in social media and bullying things can get out of hand quickly.

What do you think about Teens and Valentines Day? Do you think the pressures to clarify relationships at this age are necessary?
