Chocolate Coconut Salt Scrub
For today’s beauty hack I decided to share one of my favorite all natural bath scrubs. All you need are three ingredients to create a luxuriously soothing Chocolate and Coconut bath scrub and soak. Making the scrub/soak yourself is much more cost-effective than purchasing the expensive stuff in the department store and you can add your favorite botanicals. Twenty dollars in materials and using up-cycled jars can make approximately 8 – 10 mixes. The downloadable gift labels are at the bottom of the post.
2 Cups Epsom Salt
1 Cup Coconut Oil (For a more granular mixture use 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of coconut oil.)
1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
Add the Epsom Salt it a clean dry bowl. Make sure there is no moisture or the salt will begin to clump before mixing in the oil.
Add the cocoa powder to the Epsom Salt and mix to distribute the cocoa throughout. Mixing the dry ingredients first keeps the cocoa from clumping and helps the mixture to become uniform.
Add the coconut oil to the Epsom Salt and cocoa mixture.
Mix all ingredients you may need to use a fork to combine the ingredients.
Fill an air tight container with your mixture. I like to up-cycle candle jars into spa scrub holders. A jar, air tight container, or zip top bag.
Print and cut out your labels. I print on paper and use packing tape to secure the label. You can also print on sticker/label paper.
Add a few table spoons of a honey bubble bath or body wash to the mixture to make a foaming bath soak. Any time you use an oil based product in the bath carefully clean away all oil from the tub or shower surface to decrease the chance of a slip and fall in the bathroom. If you want a stronger chocolate scent add one more tbsp of cocoa powder.
