Cinnamon Spice French Toast
One of my go to Breakfasts is French Toast. I can feed an army with out a ton of effort and switch up the flavors easily. At the Kiddo’s last sleepover I made a French Toast bar for the kids using a basic Vanilla French Toast and Cinnamon Spice French Toast. I put out toppings: apple pie filling, strawberries, cocoa, mini chocolate chips, honey, syrup, and fresh whipped cream flavored vanilla and chocolate. The kids loved it! So, I decided to share the Cinnamon Spice French Toast Recipe with you.
6 slices of Bread
3 large eggs
1/4 cup of milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice or Nutmeg
Set stove to medium and preheat the skillet. Use either light butter or a cooking spray to lubricate the pan.
Whisk all ingredients until fluffy.
Dip both sides of the bread in to the mixture and set aside.
Cook 2 slices of bread at a time for 1 – 2 minutes per side.
Cook to a golden brown.
Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy.
A great way to make the recipe even more decadent is to use sourdough bread and heavy cream to replace the sandwich slices and whole milk. If using sourdough bread double the recipe and let the bread soak a few seconds on each side to absorb the egg mixture well. If you like a sweeter french toast add a tsp of sugar and a tsp of vanilla to the batter.
1 cup of heavy cream
1 tbsp of powdered sugar
Mix with a hand mixer until light and fluffy. To make chocolate whipped topping add a tbsp of coco powder half way through mixing the cream.
What is your favorite French Toast flavor and topping.
