Heather’s Chocolate Pie Recipe from H&P Artistry

The absolute best Chocolate Pie Recipe Ever. I make this pie every year for the Holidays Thanksgiving through New Years and I get requests for this pie starting in October. There are quite a few variations all you need to do is add your favorite chocolate, peanut butter, Heath bar etc. 1/4 to 1/2 a cup.

My Niece actually cried when I forgot to bring the pie to Thanksgiving.

Heather's Chocolate Pie Recipe from H&P ArtistryThe chocolate pie in front of her was store bought to make up for my mistake. She took one bite and said “This is an impostor pie!”  She still has not forgiven me.

Heather's Chocolate Pie Recipe from H&P ArtistryIngredients:

1 9″ pie shell

2 oz Simi-Sweet Chocolate

1 stick of Unsalted Butter

1 tsp Vanilla (2 tsp if you like Vanilla as much as I do.)

1 cup Sugar

2 eggs (large) beaten well

Preheat Oven to 375*

Heather's Chocolate Pie Recipe from H&P ArtistryThis is the tricky part.

You want to mix the egg in slowly while whisking or mixing. If you add the eggs to the hot chocolate to much to fast it will cook the egg. To temper the egg add a little bit at a time and mix constantly.

Heather's Chocolate Pie Recipe from H&P ArtistryFill the shell
If you choose a basic chocolate pie just fill the shell and bake. If you choose to add chips you can mix them into the pie mix. Poor the mix into the shell and sprinkle them on top. For a Heath bar pie layer the Heath chips on the bottom of the pie shell and then add the pie mix.

Heather's Chocolate Pie Recipe from H&P ArtistryBake at 375* for 25 -28 minutes.
Oven Temperatures and times may vary.

The pie will rise in the oven and sink down once cooled.
