Homemade Pimple Spot Treatment
Today I am sharing my favorite and most simple Life/Beauty Hack, a pimple spot treatment. There is not much worse in the life of a teen or preteen than an unexpected outbreak of pimples. As a “grown up” I realize the silliness of the idea of “unexpected” in that sentence. As a teen or an adult break outs happen when you are stressed, premenstrual, or don’t clean your skin well. As well as a number of other reasons that are specific to each person and skin type.
I tried every treatment from the medicated scrubs to the honey and cinnamon blackhead treatments/remover that are popular on the web and this simple mixture works best for both the Kiddo and myself.
1 tablespoon of Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon of tooth paste (Use the paste and not the gel)
Use enough water to make a paste approximately 1/4 teaspoon
Mix well to make a paste and apply to the affected area. Leave on for 15 minutes and wash away with a warm wash cloth.
You can leave it on over night for a more drying treatment.
To add to the effectiveness of the treatment use warm wet heat on the affected area for 5 to 10 minutes before applying the paste. The warm wet heat helps to pull the pimple to the surface and helps the paste to dry out the pimple.
How to apply wet heat – Wet a wash cloth with hot water. (As hot as you can stand) Then wring out the wash cloth well and press it or lay it over the pimple
Do you have a homemade Acne or pimple treatment that works well? Let me know I would love to test it out and share the results.
You can also use the mixture and a tooth-brush to scrub your nose to help remove blackheads or dirt and oil build up on the nose. Be careful not to get the mixture in your eyes and if you do wash it out immediately with cool clean water.
