Reversible Easter Mug Rugs
I hope you enjoy these quick and easy Easter Mug rugs. They are great for Easter but you can also make them for any time of year. The beauty of fabric coasters and mug rugs is that if they get dirty you can wash them and dry them. Remember to always prep your fabric by washing it before you start the project. If the mug rugs wrinkle after washing just Iron them flat. They make wonderful Teacher gifts, Gift Basket fillers, and Easter Decor for your home.
Fabric: I used 2 Easter prints. 4 – 6.5″ x 6.5″ squares in each print
Quilt batting or felt (Depending on the thickness you want) 4 – 6.5″ x 6.5″ squares
Basic sewing supplies
Layer your squares.
Layer the print sides together then the batting on top.
Pin the layers together. I pin each corner.
Be sure to leave an opening for turning out. I start an inch or so from the first corner. This allows me to back-stitch and secure each corner and the opening for turning.
Turn out and Iron flat. Be sure to trim your corners for easier turning. Turn your opening in and Iron.
Top stitch the edges. This closes the opening and adds a little detail to the completed mug rug. A decorative stitch works well here.
Now you have a complete set of Easter Mug Rugs.
