As many of you know the Kiddo, my family and I have lost some very special people this year and I searched for a way to honor them through the holidays and for years to come. After searching the inter-webs … Pinterest … I found a great option. There are many different versions of the memory ornament from a photograph of the loved one inside the ornament to a tiny scroll letter to heaven. I liked the idea of feathers.
One of my Favorite flavors of the Holiday Season is Peppermint. Peppermint in Coffee, Cookies, Candy canes, it’s everywhere.
Check out the YouTube video below.
My favorite Peppermint treat is Peppermint Bark. You can make it so many ways with so many different combinations of ingredients. This is my recipe using Almond bark instead of chocolate chips. I like almond bark because of the smooth consistency and ease of melting. You can use your favorite chocolate if you want. If the Almond bark or Chocolate are not smooth when melting add 1 tsp of vegetable oil to smooth it out.
Most of my Christmas Traditions and Memories revolve around family.
I have over 150 Aunts, Uncles (greats included) and cousins on my maternal father’s side of the family. My Gandad (Grandfather) has 7 brothers and sisters. We would meet at my Great Grandparents house and celebrate with food and family. We still gather today, only at a church hall instead of Grandmother and Papaw’s house.
My favorite memory and Tradition was Santa coming to visit us at their house.
What made it my favorite? My Dad played Santa! I was always so proud that Santa picked my Dad out of everybody to help him spread holiday joy. Now the next generation gets excited to see Santa.
