Mouthwatering Monday almost did not have a recipe this week. We had our Spring Birthday Party this weekend and I made all the favorites from Pasta Salad to Pineapple Chicken Skewers and my Brother made the Best Steaks Ever. I planned to take photos of all the steps for each recipe and have all the Mouthwatering Monday recipes photographed for the next few weeks. That did not happen. Instead Miss D, my 13-year-old Niece, decided she wanted to help me cook. I abandoned all photo thoughts to spend time with her, because I refuse to miss the minutes with them. Once these moments are gone we can’t get them back and they should never be squandered. Continue reading →
This weeks Mouthwatering Monday Recipe is Pita Bread Personal Pizzas. We love mini pizzas (or any pizza really) in my house. I try to find fun yet easy ways to make pizza without buying the frozen stuff. You can use any ingredients that you like but I made these for the kids and pepperoni and mushrooms won the vote. I plan to make a Hawaiian pizza on my next day home alone. This is also a recipe that is quick enough to make one pizza at a time and that is a time and food saver. When I have all the kids over they can make their own pizzas exactly the way they want.
Pizza seasoning (Garlic and onion with basil)
Spray pan with cooking spray and lay out the pita bread.
Layer the sauce and cheese over the pita bread.
Layer the pepperoni or the meat of your choice.
Add the vegetables that you love on pizza.
Sprinkle the pizza seasonings on the tops of the pizza. I choose garlic and onion powders and ground basil.
Add a second layer of cheese.
Bake at 350* for 10 to 15 minute depending on how melty you want the cheese or crispy the crust.
